Walk of light, Daan Roosegaarde

Dune 4.2 is a permanent interactive landscape besides the river Maas in Rotterdam, NL. This public artwork of 60 meters utilizes less than 60 Watts while intuitively interacting with the behavior of its visitors; rendering it a sustainable as well as cutting-edge concept.

Here the people of Rotterdam have a daily 'walk of light'; in this collective experience between humans, technology and landscape.

SMSlingshot - Claiming back urban space

'The Concept: Because of the increased commercial interest of paving public space with digital advertising screens the need for an accessibel intervention devices seemed obvious and necessary. The wish and habit to comment (tag) the surrounding world is also an ancient and still vivant phenomena we try to preserve. Our concept of VR/Urban aims for claiming back urban space and and give the inhabitants a tool for occupiing urban screens.' - VR/Urban

STREET POETRY - 'Of the now' by Nick Bednarz

Test projection.
The final version now has a laser trip so when someone stands in the human outline in the middle the wings grow, animate, then they fade when the person walks away. (the exhibition space was too dark for the video to come out clearly)

urban echo / christopher baker

Urban Echo in @ Huset i Magstræde, Copenhagen, Denmark from Christopher Baker on Vimeo.

Urban Echo is an ongoing series of interactive sound and video installations. The project has appeared in many forms ranging from intimate outdoor video sculptures to large interactive public façades. Urban Echo aims to collect and creatively represent the thoughts and imaginings of city-dwellers.

In each installation, participants send their thoughts and questions via SMS and voicemail. The responses are then projected and added to a dynamic spatialized audio composition.

This version was installed at Huset i Magstræde in Copenhagen, Denmark for the International Computer Music Festival in late August, 2007. It was completed in collaboration with composer J. Anthony Allen http://janthonyallen.com.
